05. Travel expenses

Travel costs for participants are not supported by the GDR.

The French GDR will NOT pay any travel expenses, so all French members will pay their own travel.

The UK GDR will NOT pay any travel expenses, so all UK members will pay their own travel.

You should fill the website so that we could provide the shuttle on Sunday evening and the other one on Friday afternoon and pick you up at Modane railway station with our car during the week.

Conferences

A conference room of 196 seats (wired for sound and equipped with a video projector on a giant screen).

An other conference room of 45 to 50 seats. Both have their own separate offices with a direct telephone line. There are also two small meeting rooms, which seat 25 and 10 places, and other more comfortable meeting areas available.

Accomodation

Capacity : 200 people. Some appartments with entrance hall and two double rooms equipped with a wash-basin each, a shower, toilets and a balcony for both. Rooms contain 2,3 or 4 beds separated by a mobile partition, a wash-basin, a shower, toilets and a balcony for some of them. Some are single with a wash-basin and a shower, toilets at the same level and a balcony for some of them.

08. Information about Aussois Village

Aussois

Village-resort and entrance of the Vanoise National Park, Aussois is located on a plateau South exposed, real traditional village in which tourism is synonimous with quality of life.

Aussois offers in winter a ski area of 55 km, various and sunny located between 1 500m and 2 750m of altitude and adapted to all levels.

The cross-country ski area of the Monolithe offers 30 km of tracks, skating and alternative between Aussois and Sardières.

As everybody takes full advantage of the pleasures of snow, Aussois multiplies the services and activities : ski schools, kindergarten, day-care center, paragliding, dog sledding, boarder cross, snowshoe, ski touring, via ferrata, zip lines giant, snake gliss, snow tubing, airboard, handiski, taxi-ski, yooner, snowscoot, xbike, sledding...

Inhabited village and lively all year, the programme of entertainments is presented each week at the occasion of a Welcome drink.

Aussois incites to discover its heritage in offering many visits : the "Arche d'Oé" (museum), the "parc archéologique des Lozes" (engravings), the "forts de l'Esseillon", dating from the Kingdom of Piémont-Sardaigne, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church, the chapels, crosses and oratories, the old bread oven, fountains...

01. 7th to 11th December - Aussois - Ninth GDR Conference

A CNRS research network (GDR 2501) has been running in France for ten years, in cooperation with English researchers for the last four years. It linked groups of academics and researchers in Ultrasonic Wave Phenomena with each other, and with industrial research centres and companies. The teams involved focused particularly on the theoretical end of the research spectrum, and include mathematicians, physicists and engineers.

The Network, which is a European Research Network (GDRE) entitled « Wave Propagation in Complex Media for Quantitative and Non Destructive Evaluation » aims at giving opportunities for interactions between researchers on the occasion of informal meetings, workshops and colloquia, alternatively in France and in the UK.

Authors wishing to present a talk or a poster could provide a three pages summary beforehand. The summaries will be collected and handed out to all participants upon arrival at the conference. Proceedings as those which have been published for previous GDR Colloquia will now be replaced by extended summaries. A three-page summary might be a nice compromise.

From the authors point of view, this can be seen not as an abstract, but as a short paper, including figures and references, details about the computations, the experimental devices and the results.

From the GDRE point of view, extended abstracts seem to be a good tool to support discussions and to make everybody know, before and after the talks, the content of everybody's works.

The collection of abstracts will be given to participants at the opening of the conference. All the abstracts should be written using strictly the template provided on the web site, either for Latex file or Word file.
